For those who cannot stand cigarette smoke as well as for those who can’t quite kick the habit no matter how hard they try, there might be a solution: electronic cigarettes. According to a recent article, the people at Gamucci have created an electric cigarette that disperses nicotine to smokers while, at the same time beating the smoking ban.
So, How Does it Work?
Well, unlike regular cigarettes, which contain over 4,000 chemicals and tar in addition to nicotine; the Gamucci Electronic Cigarette only contains nicotine and nothing else. There is no smell associated with the device and the electric cigarette is battery powered and is rechargeable so that you can use it repeatedly. The makers of this “cigarette” claim that it is safe (seeing as how it does not give off any harmful odors or chemicals) and can be used inside of restaurants and clubs despite the no-smoking signs that may be posted. The device does not produce smoke and does not use any sort of matches or lighters to ignite it since it is electric. Instead, the device uses three small cartridges. The first type of cartridge is labeled “low” and contains six milligrams of nicotine. The second cartridge is labeled “medium” and contains 11mg of nicotine; and the last one is labeled “high” and contains 16mg of nicotine.
Since the device does contain nicotine, it is not available to people under the age of 18 nor is it recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. So, how does it measure up in comparison to an actual cigarette? According to one user,

Well it is certainly better than normal smelly cigarettes and no tar nor all those other awful chemicals. But it still pumps out the old rat poison!
I have had great success with the electric cigarette. I eased in during the first week, and by week 2 I did not want to use regular cigarettes. I noticed a change with my taste buds, and I don’t take too many breaks from the computer to run and smoke - as there is no smell and no smoke to dirty up the machine. I am enjoying using it and I love it!
Recently I purchased a second unit in a different color, and I will be rotating with the no nicotine cartridges.
