Though many people assume that the 12 Step Program is a Christian-Only program, this is not the case.
The 12 Step Program does require that we surrender ourselves to a Higher Power - but that higher power can be unique for every individual.
MHR is not only a Christian drug rehab center, but a spiritual-based rehab center where you will learn to connect with your own Higher Power.
We teach men about the 12 spiritual laws that govern our universe and are universal to those of all religious beliefs. To benefit from our spiritually based drug/alcohol rehab program, there is no requirement that you be a Christian. We honor all faiths and welcome men from all religious backgrounds.
The Role of Spirituality in Addiction Recovery
Spirituality enhances the quality of life and makes one optimistic about life reducing conflicts. Spirituality plays a key role in the addiction recovery process. It is believed that people with higher spiritual inclination abstain from drugs and alcohol and those with low spiritual roots are often more vulnerable to drugs and alcohol.
Residents at the Mark Houston Recovery Center learn to surrender themselves to their Higher Power to overcome drug and alcohol abuse. This helps them realize that they are powerless over addiction and begin to understand the harmful effects of drug and alcohol on their lives and on the life of their loved ones.
Research has also confirmed that spirituality leads to positive results in alcohol and drug rehab and the intensity of recovery is enhanced. To download our FREE ebook “The 12 Spiritual Laws of Addiction Recovery“, please visit our homepage.
