Operation PUMA -- A Collective Force Againse Drugs

A two-and-a-half year long operation aimed to strike the drug trade at the source was unleashed in Texas and culminated last year to impressive results.  It's name, Operation PUMA. The investigation targeted distribution cells and the money laundering network of a large criminal enterprise that operated along the Texas border, coordinated the efforts the Drug Enforcement agency's Special Operation Division and Texas law enforcement including: the Garland Police Department, the Plano Police Department, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, the McAllen Police Department, the Mission Police Department, the San Juan Police Department, the Weslaco Police Department, the Pharr Police Department, the San Antonio Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the U. S. Marshal’s Service, and the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Collectively acting as one united force they were able to do something all of them separately could not accomplish. Mark Houston Recovery believes in accomplishment. Dealing with the effects of drug addiction in small cities like Garland or big cities like San Antonio still require the united support of all those affected. Mark Houston Recovery is united in its effort to get you on the road to recovery

PUMA Deals A Deadly Strike

Thanks to Operation PUMA's multi-jurisdictional investigation targeting an international drug trafficking and money laundering organization, the communities affected by this criminal element can breathe a bit easier. James L. Capra, special agent in charge of the DEA field division said, "We stood should-to-shoulder with our law enforcement partners to announce the successful completion of this investigation. We are proud to have not only dismantled this international drug trafficking organization, but to have erased the stronghold it has had on so many of our communities.” Mark Houston Recovery can help erase the stronghold drug addiction has on your life.

About Garland

After 1923 Garland had power -- literally. This inner suburb northeast of Dallas entered the electric and water utility business with what would eventually become Garland Power & Light. GP&L has now  expanded to include two new plants, C.E. Newman and Ray Olinger, and combined they produce 430 megawatts of generating capacity. With more than 62,000 customers, Garland Power & Light has grown to become the third largest municipal electric system in the State of Texas and the thirty-ninth largest in the nation. Not a bad feat for a city that's considered a suburb and just one of the many great things this major part of the Dallas/ Fort Worth Metroplex has to offer.
