Mark Houston Recovery And ADAP
Mark Houston Recovery Center announces an exciting new program in conjunction with Addiction Directions called the Addictions Directions Accountability Program (ADAP). Over the many years that Mark Houston Recovery has worked in the field of addiction we have consistently observed the large numbers of alcoholics and addicts who start out great with a clear and dedicated path in a treatment center or rehab/recovery center only to to succumb to old habits of relapse shortly after discharge. As this continues to occur the questions becomes clear. Is there anything that can be done to lower these relapse rates? Addictions Directions' ADAP can provide a clear, simple answer.
Relapse occurs for a variety of psychological, social and economical reasons but there is one consistent pattern that can be attributed to its ocurrence. Often times the discharged resident does not follow the continuing care plan. That plan consists of but is not limited to work; living arrangements; on-going therapy; 12 step meetings, sponsor, working the steps, budget, physical health, etc. In most cases continuing care plans are very thorough and are in the best interests of the residents. However, for a variety the aforementioned reasons those plans do not get followed and that often translates to a relapse back into addiction. The Addictions Directions Accountability Program addresses that problem through a 12-month program. Upon discharge the resident has a year long accountability program that is very thorough in holding them to the continuing care plan. It consists of everything from face to face talks; telephone calls; calls to collateral contacts such as families or employers as well as random UA’s. This system of accountability has been proven over the years and we are excited in conjunction with Addiction Directions to be able to offer this invaluable service to our residents.
