Relapse Trigger #14: Ignoring Warning Signs And Triggers
We know your weaknesses better than anyone. When we begin to see these warning signs surface, we have a choice about whether to ignore them or meet them head on. Our decision in this situation will make or break our ability to manage our own recovery now and in the future.
Relapse Prevention Action Plan:
- Make a list of your personal relapse triggers.
- If you sense yourself sliding, seek help immediately.
- Add to your routine a daily assessment. As you are falling asleep review the day and the times you felt the most vulnerable. Keep tabs on these.
- Surround yourself with people who care for you and listen to them. They may be able to see signs that you do not.
