Relapse Trigger #16: Not Having Awareness of Your Limitations

The world is too big and if we do not know our limitations, we cannot handle it. When we try to take on too many tasks, too much responsibility, or too much stress, we can relapse quickly. Many people leave the recovery setting and then commit to jobs that are more demanding than their limitations can bear and consequently relapse.

Relapse Prevention Action Plan:

  • Become familiar with your limitations such as lack of rest, working too many hours, not working out, extreme emotionalism.
  • Honor your limitations and don't deny that you have them.
